Hi, I’m trying to export a 10 minute film, its shot on HDV 1080i and captured 1:1 MXF (I can’t recapture) and I mixed down the edit to DNxHD 120 to avoid long GOP media errors. When I exported this i could see and image, I had found that when i exported a mixdown in DVCproHD format that i lost the image.

I tried to take the DNxHD 120 export onto disc through toast, but lost the image in the process of the burning. What should I be doing?

I’m working on Avid Media composer 3.05.

    Thanks.

I don’t quite understand the need to go from 1:1 do 120 to avoid long GOP errors since neither resolution is long GOP to start with. I am assuming you mean uncompressed HD when you say 1:1 (and not native source codec). Have you tried exporting a QT reference of either the 1:1 or the 120? Is there an image there? Can you encode from there to your final distribution format?
