I used Sorenson to convert a Quicktime file into an .mxf that I believed would then be faster to load into MC 7 for the Mac.

Import says it can’t do it and to see the “Documentation” on how to load media files. Well frankly MC “Documentation” is thin at best.

Can someone tell me how this is done? Do I put the .mxf, .AAF and .XML files into a regular media folder that the database then sees and indexes? I have a couple of live projects at the moment and am very leary of doing anything that could in any way affect the stability of my system.

Thanx in advance for any advice.

    Don’t worry about the XML.

Put the MXF files in the Avid MediaFiles>MXF>1 (Or you could make it any number if you want to keep media the organized, on certain projects I’ll make the dates. No letters, no characters just numbers).

Drag the AAFs into a bin.

    You now have master clips!
