Has anyone been able to use the DNXHD codec on a windows XP machine that doesn’t have the Avid Hardware installed?
I know there’s not one for Mac but is there
one for XP? We have loaded the codec on a machine that does not have the Avid Hardware installed and it doesn’t seem to work. We want to render out of AE to the DNXHD codec for
import back to the Avid on another machine. Are we stuck with using the Animation codec?

I am usually the person doing the AE graphics for use in Avid projects (Avid is not installed on my windows XP machine) and have had problems with the DNXHD codec. It will render fine as long as there is no alpha (for some reason that always comes out gray) but the files are always huge and we haven’t seen an improvement over the animation codec.

Never mind…the installer put the codec in the wrong folder.
