Im working on a Avid Media Composer v3.5.4 at NBC.
Some of the footage I’m trying to incorporate is SD and they are AVI files.
I need to upconvert everything to HD 1920×1080 but the AVIs use a codec that is not
avail on the PCs here. So I brought the AVIs home stuck them in AE and did the upconvert using
the DNxHD 145 8bit codec. When I open the new QTs on the edit PC the movie is missing the entire bottom half!! Its entirely black. The dimensions are still 1920×1080 but the bottom half of the QT is not there. The same movie plays back fine on my MacPro and my Macbook Pro. The mac codecs that I downloaded from AVid are current. I’m not sure of the QT codec version number on the PC.

    This is destroying my workflow!!!
    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

this is just a guess, but maybe there is a slight difference in versions of the codecs.

try installing the same version of the codecs on the avid… i think avid has recently released version 2 of their codecs.
