    Hi.

It seems that my Beta SP gives out signal sligthly lower the normal level.
I see it in capture window and picture is darker than normally.
I know that computer screen is darker but not so dark.
    On tv it looks ok.

I discovered it as I was outputin one clip to tape what I had created eardlyer as TGA files. After export to tape I was verifying timecode on tape by controlling betacam in capture window … input from beta looked dark 🙁
I had the same problem with my earlyer capture card.

How could I calibrate procamp setings to get correct values.

I have some betas laying around with 75% colour bars.
Can I use them as refference?

    Hi Margus,

Final Cut Pro automatically adjusts the gamma display of captured clips on your computer monitor to match the gamma of your computer monitor. This can mean that if you use two different computer monitors, the movie clip will appear differently on two different monitors.

What is important is not how the video appears on your computer monitor but how it appears on your broadcast monitor connected to your DeckLink card. If captured analog video appears darker or brighter than it should be on the broadcast monitor, use the Proc Amp control in the DeckLink preferences to adjust the settings and then try capturing again. Once the video appears correctly on your broadcast monitor, continue to use those Proc Amp settings regardless of how the video might appear on your computer monitor.

The 100% color bars included in the DeckLink driver disk image can also be used for calibrating your monitor.

    Regards,

I do not know if I’m doing something wrong.

I use PC and Premiere Pro 1.5. Proc amp do not seem to have eny effect.

Here you can see my test result.

Brighter half is original from Premiere timeline.
Darker half is from Beta tape exported from timeline original.
    It seems to me:
    1. I do not know how to use proc amp …
I did turn it up to maximum 1,7 db (both values)
    2. My beta is calibrated wrong and output is 75% or something like that.
    3. worse case … betas input is wrong 🙁

I remember when I got it some tuning we did but on Y/C only I presume.
    It is used Beta.

    Margus.
