DIY Black Background Special Effects
I know how to remove a black background.
My question, how do I film my own effects like a dirt charge or explosion against a black background. Or do they use a green/blue screen and it just looks black because of the transparency.
Bonus points if you can link a video tutorial.

the most important thing they do is they put the camera behind a piece of glass..I can tell that Action essentials always puts their charge on the ground..which is unfortunate for aerial explosions…but we make it work. i would guess that they do it on a green screen yes..if it were on black you’d lose a lot of details..or perhaps just on a white screen…i know smoke effects are on a black backdrop
