DivX Stage6 vs. YouTube
I have noticed a lot of people asking questions about how to post video to YouTube, and hence the endless line-up of uploading issues. So now I beg to ask the question, has anyone ever heard of DivX Stage6?
It allows you to upload larger files, with no time limit, you can upload widescreen video without problem, and it uses less cpu to upload. It has a few dis-advantages as well, but from what I see, in terms of quality it kicks YouTube in the rear-end pretty good. Most of the issues I have seen here relate to quality issues with YouTube, so why not try something else?
I realize the audience on DivX is smaller, and you need the software. I use both services and the amount of people who view my vids on YouTube is about %1000 more, but for showing a potential client etc. your work when quality matters, DivX is great.
Any thoughts?

I have to agree that there are certainly better avenues for video producers than YouTube. However, I put up a simple video or two just to check out the quality. I have my own site so I don’t need to deal with YouTube, but what the heck? Get with the times, you know?
I put up a simple shot with Florida alligators. Before I took it down after a couple of weeks, it had over 10,000 views. And I never even told anyone it was there!!!!
But that doesn’t mean you can’t have a YouTube version, an iPod version, a DivX version, and any number of other options.

Hi I have to admit that stage6 looks way better, here is what I did to find out…
upload video to youtube, then when I found out about stage 6, I uploaded there too..here are the clips:
