I use windows avi with Divx compression for some of my exports out of After Effects. Don’t know why, but that creates an avi that duplicates the first frame or first two frames. The duration is the same but the frames are offsetted a bit. It becomes crucial when I need to match audio and video.

Just the facts: using AE CS4 on a windows vista 64 bit with 2.67ghz processors and 8 GB ram.

The Divx version I use is 6.8.5 , key framing every 1 frame, highest qulty setting with 1 pass 8000 bitrate.

I tried to go back to divx 5.2.1 which was working ok for me but other computers in the studio still have that problem.

    Thanks.

[barak Ziv] “key framing every 1 frame”

I think that might be one of your problems. DivX is not an i-frame only format. Generally you’d have this set to 10x your target frame rate, so for 30fps output, you set a keyframe every 300 frames.

    Thanks, I’ll try that.
