    Hi,

Is it possible to distribute the many fills and strokes on one shape to their own layers? If yes i do you do that?

    Thank you

    Step 1
If you have one shape with many fills and stroke, I assume this was done using the appearance palette. You wante to then use expand appearance, and this will then expand so that this is rebuilt without any appearance attributes.

Unless you really need to expand the appearance, I would keep the appearance attributes, and edit them in the appearance palette.

    Step 2
If after that you watn to put each item on it’s own layer, use the layers palette flyout menu and there is a release to layers command there that will distribute you paths to their own layer.

Not sure from you post if the multiple strokes are assigned to one path using the appearance palette, or if you have many paths on the same layer. If you do nto have appearance attributes start with step 2.

Thanks for your input. It was one path with several strokes in appearance palette indeed.
