  Distortion of closed paths

  Hi guys

  Having some issues with paths in Illustrator that I have never encountered before

  

  As per the attached example, I’m noticing that some of the corners/joins are not joining correctly, creating a kink type of effect (a). However, when I copy and paste the same closed path shape, and move it above and to the left of the original path, it seems to correct itself (b).

  Bizarre, but hopefully someone could shed some light on this…as it’s only been occurring recently.
