  • Distortion flicker…how to?

    Hi!

I wonder if anyone has got some ideas of how to make the distortion flicker that was used a lot in “Batman Begins”.

The center of the frame was still but around there was something like a magification flicker related to the lighting in the frame. Difficult to explain.

Do you have any thought on how to achive this effect?

    Many Thanks!

I’ve not seen the referenced movie, but wouldn’t animating the perameters (distortion/bulge/mirage) using a wiggle expression work? You could precomp a non-distorted version on top and mask off the desired ‘still’ portions (feather the mask also.)

    Hi Steven

    thanks for your reply

Before I posted here at the cow i tried to do what you proposed.
I made a duplicate of the clip and used distortion and wiggle.

I will try the bulge and also have a look at the mirage effect haven’t tried it before.

    thanks!

Anyone else have any other suggestions? 🙂
