    Hello Wizards of the edit,

I come seeking the answer to how I may achieve a certain effect in Sony Vegas.

The effect is one you may have scene in reenactments. Where you see a lot of camera motion but the colors blend and the motion distorts and it’s like the frames catch up when the camera comes still and then this distorted dragging effect continues when the camera moves.

Does anyone understand the effect I speak of?

Any help you can offer would be helpful, would a slight amount of slow-mo benefit this effect also?

    Cheers,

    Jordan.

    Life’s about being entertained.

Shooting with a long shutter or wide aperture will produce this. In editing, you might be able to right click on the video clip, go to properties, and lower the under sample rate. See what that does. It basically plays your footage back at the same speed, but with fewer frames. Try different blur settings along with that. There’s probably other ways and plugins to get what you want.
