I am on 1370×768 resolution on 19” monitor.
Problem is – i have very little room to accommodate time line and video preview panel om screen.
I have to resize in between to have better look on either of them.

I am wishing to upgrade the display.

What is better that can provide enough room?

    24” 1080p?
    24” 1440p?

1440 will be looking too small. So will 1080p display, if any one of you currently using provide sufficient room without resizing time line and other panels?

Yes, as far as old monitor works will use it as extended desktop. But if you assure that 1080p is sufficient and there’s no need for 1440p, then i shall get it.

    How about a 1920×1200 panel instead of a 1920×1080?

That’s 7 more layers in the timeline panel!

You were the first one to tell what i was wanting to know from long time.

i m on 1378×768* resolution and can accommodate 8 layers after resizing preview panel.

If at all u can approximately say.. How many layers do we have as in:

    1080p
    1200p
    1440p

[Mit Panchani] “i m on 1378×768* resolution and can accommodate 8 layers after resizing preview panel. If at all u can approximately say.. How many layers do we have as in: 1080p / 1200p / 1440p”

A layer takes 17 pixels (16 for the layer, 1 for the separator line).

    With your given sizing, 8 layers * 17 px/layer = 136 px.
    768px – 136px = 632px for the rest of the UI.

    1080px – 632px = 448px / 17px/layer = 26 layers
    1200px – 632px = 568px / 17px/layer = 33 layers
    1440px – 632px = 808px / 17px/layer = 47 layers
