Display Panels
Just readying myself to move up from my lowly G4 with FCP 4.5 to Mac Pro FCP 6.0.1. I have a price from Apple for my system and I am now dickering about display panels. I got a price from Apple on their 20″ Display panel and their 23″ HD Display panel. Then it occured to me – maybe there is a better price and/or better quality panel out there that is not part of the Apple product line.
As a side bar I am setting up my old system for my in-college son to use and there I am really looking to keep the cost down.
I have been using and am very satisfied with my two Mitsubishi Diamondtron NF Plus 91s and would be happy to use these two dispaly monitors either in the old system for my son or split them up between old and new systems.
Any suggestions out there on what to do and what brands/models to think about using?

Dell 2047. Better blacks, cheaper.
Many people here have them. I have the previous model, the 2405.

Thanks for the fast reply. I just went to the Dell web site and could not find the 2047 or the 2405 display. I did find the UltraSharp 2007FP 20″. Is that the one that you mean? It lists for about $470. -
That was a typo. He meant the 2407, not 2047.

As Shane notes, this is an excellent monitor. We have two of them on our suites.
