    Hi Avid Gurus,

I got some few questions that I hope you can help me with but it all boils down to this: I have found it difficult to achieve right/correct colors in my edits. My edits usually come back to me with a recurring comment which is “why are the colors like that?”

It does look ok in my PC monitor (LCD) and whenever I go and check the same video from other PCs (laptop or desktop) it does look different. I understand that different PC screens have different brightness/chroma properties that displays picture differently. The scary part is,how do i know my pc monitor pumps out the right display? How do I check & correct?

Is there a way to calibrate the PC monitor in a setting that makes it a standard/calibrated online broadcast display?

I work in an online medium so the need for kick ass broadcast monitors is swept under the rugs since my output is not really targeted for TV.

Another question, If ever I get the TV monitor to compensate, how do i make it run with my AVID with getting the MOJO breakout box?

I had only purchased the XPREss 5.7 software and am really trying to cut down production cost.

Thanks & hope somebody can help.

If you go to your Supporting Files Folder inside the Aplication folder you should have SMPTE Color Bars.
You can use them to set up your monitor.
Adjust brightness so that you see only two shades of black on the bottom black bar. Adjust Chroma or color saturation so that the blue and purple squares are the same brightness.
adjust hue so the bars look right and you are there.
