    hi everybody.

i’m thinking of dumping my old CRT-studio display and get some new LCD-PLASMA for HD. so i’ve tried the apple cinema-display which gave some good results. (dvi and display on cinemadisplay in fcp settings). but the problem is: how can i display interlaced material. the display runs with 60Hz so it should be able to show me fields?! is this a setting problem in fcp or is it a general problem (for i can’t display video with 50/60 fields in quicktime without “little teeth” because of showing both fields as one frame…)

Computer monitors are progressive output and unable to display as interlaced.

i know, but interlaced means 50/60 “frames” with half number of lines so why isn’t it possible to display these 50/60 “frames” by interpolating. i wonder if i can place a interlaced videoclip in after effects an render the sequence with 50/60 frames per second… i’ll report!
