Display Clock is cut-off
Anyone experiencing the same issue? My display clock on the lower left is cut-off when I’m playing a video. How can I fix this?

Drag the right edge to resize it and the text should snap back to the correct size.

Yes, I have the same problem. There is some distortion lines showing on the TC display. It seems that it is some sort of an error in FCPX under El Capitan. Hopefully Apple will fix this with with the next update.

I had the same problem and I’m using Yosemite and all I had to do was resize the window and the text snapped back to fill it. Does this not work for you in El Capitan? I’m about to upgrade to El Capitan.

resizing the window does not work for me at all. Here is more info on this problem.I have actually reported this bug to Apple today.

You’re talking about two different things. In El Capitan you’re going to have issues with the TC display (not the breakout window). Look closely at the screen shot and you’ll see a nasty line of junk through the numbers and also the hr min sec fr type across the bottom is offset. They don’t line up with their numerical counterparts above. It doesn’t affect anything but the visual.

Sounds like I should hold off on upgrading to El Capitan until Apple works out some more bugs. El Capitan was the first time I received 3 emails from Arturia, Native Instruments, and iZotope all warning me not to upgrade because it will break their plug-ins. Whatever Apple did… they either didn’t test very well or didn’t care about backward compatibility but I’m thinking of holding of on upgrading to El Capitan for a while.

If you do not need the upgrade then I would suggest to wait untill you really have to.

There is absolutely zero benefit to El Capitan that I can tell. I was hoping for this whole Metal thing, but I guess nobody is even doing anything with it. You’d think Resolve would be all over it as their playback performance needs something.
I installed El Cap on an external partition and played with it. You still can’t use dual monitors full screen for crap. Metal hasn’t done anything special for anything and there’s heaps of new bugs. Yay?

I’m holding off on my ElCap switch for a little bit too.
I’m more than willing to pull the trigger on intra-release updates as they happen – but the big “named” OS updates typically require some time to settle down.
I don’t mind tempting Fate a bit.
I just don’t find there’s any up-side in chaining her inside my machine.
