    This may be an easy answer but I was wondering if I am able to move displace pixels by a set margin say 5 pixels so that all of the pixels of the original image are still in the image just moved around by that margin.

    You could use the Displacement Map effect [link].

    If I understand the question, you can move pixels by pressing left/right/up/down by 1 pixel with the timeline/composition viewer open.

    This is exactly what I want to disable because I do it accidentally frequently.
