Bill Page here with more detail on using DISK WARRIOR:

    1. I ran the program with DW TEC SUPPORT (very helpful and professional group)on the telephone…the Matrox SCSI drive containing most of the missing data in this project is going bad; it’s still in warranty. The other two scsi drives were ok.

    BUT……..

    2. I copied those files from this bad drive to one of the good SCSI drives hoping they would open in my Project, BUT THEY DIDN’T…and my M100 could not link the data.

    3. So I re-ran DISK WARRIOR on this ‘good’ drive again which seemed like a logical thing to do. The DW report was: there will be changes to the numbers, contents and/or attributes of the files and folders. Critical values in the Volume information were incorrect and repaired. I compared the directory and files in this Project in Preview which was the same. Clicked Rebuild, message said all was repaired, but the missing media still would not link to the project……

    4. What to do?????

Can you play the clips, if you import them into a new Project?

Can you play the video part in Quicktime app?

Can you play the audio parts of clips in Quicktime app?

Try downloading the demo “Producer” from M100 and make a copy of the project files (project, bins, programs).

You may have to install updated system on a new drive (that way you still have old one intact, may not work on older CPU. I don’t know what system you have.

Then open the copy in “Producer” you will have to import the bins and programs again. See if this will re link media.

    Hi Olof:
    I am running a Mac G3, OS9.1, Media 100 5.5, P6000 Card, 3 external SCSI drives daisy chained.

Well disregard my Producer option on that setup.

Do you have a current laptop or another mac with 10.5.x on it?

    Did you try these suggestions?

Did you read my last reply to your earlier thread? Did you try some of the suggestions or have answers to some of my questions?

I opened another project, brought in bins from this one not opening in it orgin….some bins open complete, some still incomplete. Yes, these imported clips open and play.
Thing is I’ve over 1,000 video and/or audio items on this Timeline that is not linking up; and over 2,0000 on the drives…
No, I dont have access to an OS10.X system.

    Respond to Floh’s questions.

I take it you have no backups of the program file, in the Media100 Backups ƒ.

I could be wrong but it seems that your program /timeline may be corrupt.

    Olof:
All the program timelines in this particular project are either missing all data or 98% of data is not relinking.
I did open a new project, and copied and brought in several timelines; didnt resolve anything.
Any additional ideas will be appreciated.
