I’m running Panther on a G5. I’m having problems trying to raid
two Seagate 160 Gg SATA hard drives together with Disk Utility.
Both drives showup in DU and then I choose the RAID tab and drag
both drives to the RAID window select STRIPE and then name the
Volume followed by choosing “OS Extended” then select CREATE.
It starts to do the creation of the RAID and then give me this error:
“RAID set failed due to the following error: Could not bring raid
    set online”

and it wont mount the new RAID set, Even thou it show the raid set
    in the Disk Utility list.

I’m very confused… ANy help or Ideas would be great!

I would start by erasing each drive and formatting it as an individual drive. Perhaps there’s something on it that’s messing it up? I don’t know, but it’s something to try. I forget, does Panther have the ability to write zeros to the entire disk? If so, select that option.
