  Disk speed for 8 bit capture

  Hi,
  I have a raid with more than 100 mbs read/write i/o as reported by decklink speed utility. recently i wanted to capture a lot of material so i tested my single ide drives(7200rpm) they reported 43mbs write speed when connected on the system board and if connected through firewire port 30mbs. I tested capturing 8 bit footage on these drives and they were ok. they did not report dropped frames.
  Should i use them for 8 bit capture if need arise? I am using premiere pro.
