    Hi!
I’m experiencing some very slow performance when editing, happens with mov and mp4 from DSLR and not with xdcam.
what happens is when I got my media on the timeline, sometimes when its 2 cameras it can take up to a minute to display or play.

I used CrystalDiskMark to check my HDD and it’s rather slow 56w 86r. so I’m guessing thats the problem ’cause my render are quite fast.

I’m thinking what hardrive to buy and how to set it up?

    I have SSD 128g for windows 764bit
I have HDD 1T 7200 rpm for all my media and currently to work from.

I plan to buy another SSD 250g and set it all up like this:
    SSD – operating system
HDD – storage for almost 1000G constantly
SSD 250G – to work from with PP on one project at a time.

I Have about 2000 Gigs waiting to be edit at any giving time, each project is about 70-100 gigs and
I’m working every day on a different new project and finish it, mining that if I want to set up the new SSD I will have to copy the project the I wish to edit
from the HDD to SSD and when finished to move it back.

    is it a good plan?
    what are my other options?

    windows 7 64bit
    16 gigs of ram
    processor i-5
    screen card – quadro 2000
    PP cs6

The plan listed with the SSD would work provided that is enough volume space each day. You would want to wipe the SSD as a monthly maintenance to maintain ideal speed. The other option would be 2 mechanical drives in raid 0. The SSD drive would be ideal though especially since the 480GB+ are dropping in price with the release of the 960GB drives.
