Les, wasn’t there supposed to be some Hardware assisted super duper FCP version last year, well maybe it is materialising now? Or perhaps it’s that Apple are to buy Avid or visa versa… or just another one of Apple’s hyped up media manipulations… or appleinsider wanting to sleaze their way to more readers… hmmm, a cynic’s possibilities are endless!

Arnie you hit it on the head, discuss what? Rumor sites have proven to be completely useless in the past and really don’t warrant any discussion on this forum.

Let’s see, before NAB 2007 all of the rumor sites were excited about the new Final Cut Extreme. Hmmmmm, still waiting to see that materialize.

I prefer to discuss stuff that we all actually have or has been announced by the companies themselves.

    Les

ooooh maybe they will finally announce Final Cut server!! Or that the next release will fix ALL the bugs!

or better yet, Final Cut for the Iphone

all kidding aside, its probably got something to do with hardware, like the mac you are going to need to run the next version of FCP. still I am curious

BTW after going to that page, i saw an article about apples techs developing an OLED keyboard. DAted back in march. what about that one thats already out there for an arm and a leg? Optimus? Optimum? Optimistic? something like that.

good to hear from you les! and marcus palmos too!

Oh the Optimus keyboard… that thousand dollar piece of “look at the pretty pictures on my keyboard” vaporware.

From the first time that surfaced years back, I thought it was cool, and would be awesome if the keys changed dynamically as you pressed down modifier keys… which they don’t. That takes a software solution to take advantage of the hardware. This is exactly why the Apple patent is so interesting.

A keyboard that shows your icons for different operations and dynamically changes based on context and which modifier keys are down would really be a good way to get commands and options out in front of users. Hopefully we’ll see it sooner than later and for well under a grand.
