  • Discrete Audio Channels for H.264 Compression

Posted by Aaron Barton on July 5, 2012 at 4:20 pm

    Hey guys,

So I’m trying to make a Quicktime H.264 with 8 channels of audio from a Quicktime ProRes HQ file that has 8 discrete audio channels. The problem I’m having is that when I bring the HQ file in to Compressor, it shows up as stereo and not having 8 discrete channels of audio. Is there a way to change the way Compressor interprets the file it’s about to compress?

    Thanks,
    Aaron

    Hi aaron

If you choose AAC in audio settings, then you will have more options. Hope it helps.

Or actually you can also choose the PCM (better audio) and you will have even more options

    Cheers
