    Hey all,

So I’ve been messing with mattes, and I’m currently working on a project where I’m using tack mattes. After I change the track matte to Luma Matte, which is what I need, it makes that layer’s alpha area a darker shade.

I hope I’m making sense here, but that layer is now a little darker than my background. It’s really obvious another layer is over it, even though it’s nearly all transparent. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong here but I haven’t had this problem before, up until now using AE CS6. Anyone know what the issue is here?

It seems like it’s not making the areas I want completely transparent, transparent. Frustrating.

Thanks, and I hope this ended up making a little sense.

double check you matte layer and make sure that the white measures fully white (if working in 8-bit for instance, the rgb should be 255, 255, 255).

also are there any other effects on either the matte layer or the layer receiving the matte.
