disappearing track selector panel and track selectors
Avid Media Composer 4.0 on PC.
Hi. Forgive me, i’m an online student learning Avid. I’ve done something stupid and lost my track selector panel from my timeline and can’t get it back. Actually it’s only showing my video track selector and not my audio ones, even though I DO have multiple audio tracks. I’ve spent 3 hours trying to figure it out…
If someone would be so kind to give me a hint where the proper settings are to get the track selector panel back that’d be great and i’d kiss your feet 🙂
I’m working on an outside project (not schoolwork) and was trying to use Avid “for real work”…and practice my skills.
Already tried: Fast Menu > Track Panel.
Also tried timeline settings… but got nothing…

Seems like today they would be trying a littble bit harder. That’s all I can say, really.

Make a new user and reopen the project. See if they’re back. Also, make sure you’re timeline is showing your Record monitor and not your Source monitor (the source/record icon in the bottom of your timeline – is it Green? If it is, click it and you’ll see the timeline for your record monitor).
Also, check the sequence in your bin – set your bin headings to show tracks – does it list audio tracks? If not, you accidentally deleted them. In that case, go to the Avid Attic and find an earlier version of your bin and try to recover the audio tracks.
Those are the few things to check I can remember off the top of my head – I’m not in front of a system right now so I can’t do more research on how you might have turned them off.
