    Disappearing layers window

    Sorry, newbie to illustrator here, CS4 on a mac – I like to work, in Photoshop, with the layers window visible all of the time, but when I call it up in illustrator, work for a few minutes and suddenly (I haven’t worked out what I’m doing to lose it) the layers window isn’t there and I have to go to the ‘Windows’ menu again and click on ‘layers” – any advice please ?     You should drag it from the panel to be a standalone palette. Or just use F7 😉
