disappearing layers
I’m a newby to Illustrator but not Adobe products. I’ve used Photoshop for years & never had this problem. I’m creating a large 2600×1900 document of text. Each time I get 1/2 way in the layers in my layer window dissapear. When I scroll down they comes back. When I go to scroll up to the top where my layers are it dissapears again. I think it’s because I have so many paths. It keeps having to re draw the paths in the thumbnail. I changed the size to small in the palette options but that didn’t seam to help.
Does anyone have any suggestion why this is happening? Could it be a ram thing?
Any help would be appriciated.

If you would like to post the file, I’ll see if I can recreate the error and see how I’d trouble shoot.
