Wondering if anyone else has had this problem, or if it is just my system.

In FCP6, the Effects Bin shows NO fx plug plugins. I noticed this for the first time last week opening a project I did on my MacBook Pro that used the Color Solid matte, the fxplug version.

I have checked to make sure that my settings show all plugins, but that doesn’t change anything.

I’m running on a PowerMac G5 dual 2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, OS X 10.4.10, QT7.2. This problem existed before I updated to 10.4.10 and QT7.2, I did those hoping for a fix.

Do you have Motion 3 installed on that system?

Martin – thanks for the response. Yes, I do have Motion 3 installed, but it will not open (just noticed this). I also noticed that I do not have the Motion Templates bin in FCP.

I tried reinstalling the whole studio, but that changed nothing. I’m guessing that I left behind a file that did not get overwritten by the install, leaving me with the same performance.

Any ideas? My next step is to wipe everything and start from scratch. I was hoping to wait until 10.5 came out to do that, but I can’t have the machine like this for that long.

Been there, done there. I had to do a complete drive wipe and reinstall to get everything back. There are some serious installer issues continuing with FCS.

    All the best,

    Tom

Hmm not sure, on the installer there’s no option to just install content and plug-ins?

There is an option whether or not you want to install content for Soundtrack, DVDSP, and LiveType. There is defintely NOT an option for whether or not you install Motion content or FCP plugins.

Weird. Sounds like Tom has run into other problems, so it looks like I’m headed for a clean system. Man, I hate reinstalling everything.

One thing it would be nice to see Apple do is to create an uninstaller for the Studio. It scatters files in so many different places, it’s tough to find them all, even with Spotlight.

Thanks for the help Martin and Tom!
