Disappearing Files on RAID
I am having a very odd problem with an Xserve RAID set up RAID 50. I have files that are randomly dissapearing. I captured a bunch of video files via FCP and then the next day went to open the project and most of the files were now offline. The capture folder was completely empty. As I hit “reveal in finder” for the files that still showed up in FCP, they suddenly appeared in capture folder. But randomly would dissapear later if I went looking for them again.
I am also having other project files and other video files randomly dissapearing. Sometimes they dissapear when I click on them.
Just to be clear this is not a XSAN system or a shared drive. It is only connected to one computer
Any ideas?

For what it’s worth, i have had great success with the latest round of updates, OS 10.4.11, FCP 6.0.2 (all of the .02 updates for FCS2) and QT 7.3.

Just a thought, but perhaps running DiskWarrior might be helpful. This app will create a new directory on your Xserve RAID. Your existing directory may have some corruption (happens over time) that’s making life difficult for FCP.
And as Jeremy stated, the most recent software updates have made life easier for a lot of FCP users, including myself.
