  • Disabling, NOT DELETING, a filter from all movie clips in a timeline

Posted by Max Leto on September 12, 2010 at 3:54 am

I have a short 22 minute movie with a filter that I’ve applied to most of the project. Is there anyway to disable the filter from all the clips I’ve applied the filter to, without having to go through and manually disable each clip?

I have a lot of clips.

    Thank you for your time,

    -M

ps, thank you for the previous message about project management.

    Hi Max,
You can’t just disable the filters, but to remove them.
Select the clips and left-click with your mouse. Then “Remove Attributes > Filters”.
This will take away ALL the filters.
With this plugin you can select which filters you leave:

    Thank you very much Rafael,

This looks promising. Future projects will be better planned now that I understand the particulars of filters in FCP.

Incidentally, do you know of any good de-noise filers that do not take hours to render?

    Kind regards,

    M

    Hi Max,
After trying many de-noisers (Purifier, Nattress,..), I’m using NeatVideo. It may work slower than others, but the results are worth the extra time.
