Disable Resizing
Assume you have a 1920×1080 project and you put a100x100 pixel image on the timeline, Vegas will automatically expand the image to fill the screen. The same is true for a 5000×5000 pixel image, Vegas will shrink the image to fit the screen.
I tried disabling Adjust Source Media in Project Settings but this does nothing, how do I stop Vegas from automatically resizing?

Hi Tom,
Open Pan & Crop on the 100×100 event, right click anywhere in the display and select ‘Match Source Aspect’. Maybe that will solve your issue.

I use the Logo Resize tool in Excalibur to return them to their original size.

Another related problem – I’m trying to crop a video to remove a piece at the bottom – when I resize the project in project video properties the video is shrunk to fit the space – I want the video to stay the original size with the excess cropped off – if i resize the video with track motion the video is blurred

The methods I now use are – for small images to prevent them from being scaled up I save them on a transparent psd the size of the project, this also allows you to position it in photoshop.
For cropping a project I change 1 of the dimensions in project setting and then in pan and crop – match output aspect (this stops the video becoming blured by scaling it), I then move the video into position to fill the black bar.
You have to only change 1 of the dimensions – save in a lossless format (Lagarith) then change the other dimension of the saved file and repeat the steps. -
Vegas Pro is an video editing program not a printing program like Photoshop
so we do not need to see the actual size of image or videos
your final render make a videos see it on the screen only not to print it on papers
just you arrange the images or videos together as you see on the screen
