  • Disable Effects on media export

Posted by Joseph Freeman iii on August 27, 2020 at 1:49 pm

Is there a way to export media without effects enabled?
Disabling the Global FX Mute button only works within the timeline.

If this feature is non-existent, maybe a feature request may be considered.
This feature would be beneficial for shearing edited media with audio mixers and color stylist.

    Thank you.

Duplicate the sequence and name appropriately (MainTimelineFINAL_NoFX), select all items in the timeline, right-click, and Remove Attributes.

Export this effect-less timeline for your collaborators, while retaining your main timeline with effects enabled.

    Blaise,

    This had been my solution.
I was wondering if there was a solution to eliminate wasted work.

Thank you for the suggestion and time to post it.

That was the politest “no kidding, genius” I’ve ever gotten from anyone, on the internet or otherwise. Kudos for your restraint. ☺

    You’re welcome Blaise.

This feature and dozens more would benefit Premiere Pro users greatly.

Thanks for your kind response and be well.

    Hi Antoine,

Buying and learning additional software to perform a seemingly simple function is not effective for my occasional needs.

Thanks for the link and the time to provide a possible work around.

    Be well.

Yes, and it’s really simple. Ever since Pr CC2019, I think, you can add an fx enable / disable button to your Program tab by clicking on the + sign at the bottom right of the tab, and drag the fx icon to your set of commands. That toggle will enable and disable ALL the effects in your Sequence.

I’m not sure if Exporting enables FX automatically. If it does, never mind.

    Jim,

    Thank you for your reply.

The Mute Fx button does enable/disable Fx on the displayed timeline within Premiere Pro.

On the Export side of the equation, even if Mute Fx is enabled, the Export process by passes this switch.

Currently the only solution, I know of, is to remove all attributes from within a timeline before exporting.
