    Hi everyone,

I wish to shoot sequences of me, myself addressing the camera to be shown on the web. The shots will be mostly of me speaking, and evaluating / demonstrating various products.

First I’ll go over what I’ve done so far with lighting. Please tell me if I’m making any lighting mistakes, or suggest another inexpensive alternative lighting strategy.

I have bought a few white paper Chinese lanterns from Pier 1.

I also picked up some work lamps, and compact fluorescent light bulbs from the hardware store.

I put it all together, and have light globes that seem to work well. Although I’m not sure if they’re bright enough.

Any advice about what kind of bulbs are the best, how to tweak the dvx100a settings or anything else.

    Thanks,
    Chill Will

Yup you’re doing fine. I’d also suggest picking up the DV Rebel’s Guide book which goes over more suggestions on dirt-cheap lighting techniques.
