OK not the band…the position I’m in right now!
    Has anyone seen the error:

Exception: FileInputOutput: GetAFileHdl – no I/O slot open…

when you try to do an audio mixdown?

I’m trying to make a tight deadline for a client and finished the sequence but when I go to do an audio mixdown, I get that error. I’ve exported this sequence several times before (for the client’s review) with no problem. What gives now???

I tried bypassing the whole mixdown thing and went straight to export, but then it just totally freezes up when it gets 3/4 of the way through the AIFF.

PLLLLEEEEAAAAAZZZEEEE tell me it’s a simple fix. I can’t lose this client!!! Thanks in advance for any insight or advice you can give me.

The 3/4s through thing gives you a clue where to look. Break down your sequence. Export the first third, then export the second third, etc until you find the offending section that won’t go out.
My guess is you either have corrupt media or a corrupt audio effect.

    Fade to Black.

The Dires Straits Song, not the effect.

Also, check your Quicktime version. If you (or iTunes) have updated to far, you’ll get squirrely audio issues.

You can check here for you MC version / OS / Quicktime version…

Thanks so much Terrence. That gives me a good place to start…track down that corrupt culprit and nix it. I’ll let you know how things turn out!

    Shannon,

The other problem may lie in the sampling rate of the audio. Go the Timeline Fast Menu, Clip Text>Clip Resolutions. If there are different bit rates or sample rates, this can cause issues. If so, transcode the problem clip and reedit it into the sequence.
