  • Dip to black doesnt finish on black?

Hi from medieval York UK 🙂

I need the end of my movie clip to fade to black. In Pr CC i thought dip to balck would be the right effect but what happens is the footage dips to black then suddenly the dipping reverses and go back to translucent if that makes sense. Put another way I need an effect that “keeps” dipping to black and ends black if that makes sense.

Any advice welcome, here is a screen shot of my pain:

Why not just use the normal cross dissolve to a black layer at the end?

    Ahtz! Minghia!

I had the same problem, only it worked fine before but did what you said so eloquently 😉 I don’t know, sometimes it fades to black fine, (I normally use Mike’s method anyway so that wouldn’t help), and sometimes it gets all weird, usually if I add text with an effect on it at the very end.

Yes I’m sure it worked in the past but with these software packages their behaviour seams to change depending on what lunar cycle we are in!
