  digitizing stalls

  I have a digitizing issue.
  I have been attempting to encode some material from a Varicam 1200A (down converted to DV) and it keeps stalling for a second or so and then resumes. it take about 20 seconds for this to happen and then goes back to normal for another 20-30 and then pauses again for a second, and so on.
  yesterday i encoded a lot of material with no issue.

  I am on a dua 2.7 G5 with a 3 Terabyte Xraid, fiber channnel with 2 terabytes of free space.
  it does this as well, when I encode from an HDV (down converted to DV)

  any suggestions as to what is the issue.
