I’m digitizing about 20 6-minute interviews and all of the sudden the capture slows down to frame by frame and I have to abort the digitizing.

I’m capturing from Beta SP at Pro-res 422 HQ setting. This seems to happen at about 3:40 or so into capturing.

I’ve never had this problem before. I’m capturing to CalDigit SVR Duo SATA drives. The drives are not even 50% full. I just updated to FCP 6.0.2. Any thoughts as to what’s causing this? Is it a preferences thing? Thanks much.

It sounds similar to when FCP detects a timecode break. The deck will slow down and frame by frame find the break to be able to carry on recapturing…..

Have you checked the tape to be sure????

To be sure – change your preferences to abort capture on timecode break and see what happens – best of luck.

The tape seems fine, but since I unchecked that abort on timecode beraks or dropped frames, it seems to be working. Thanks for your help!
