digitizing on a Mac for Avid
Hi…I shot a large project with over 100 hours of mini-dv footage that I need to capture, digitize and log. I work on a Mac, FCP, and my editor will be working on an Avid system. I am wondering if there is a way for me to start digitizing the footage on my Mac — Either using FCP, which I have and know fairly well, or with Avid Express, which I will need to buy – or any other programs…Any ideas?

If this will be used on an Avid, log and capture on an Avid.

What about digitizing on an Avid for mac (Avid Express Pro) then putting into the editor’s system Avid PC…

MAC, PC…doesn’t matter with Avid. It captures as OMFI or MXF, the Avid native format. Works on both.
