    Hey-

Many thanks in advance! We need to digitize from commercial bluray discs…. Before you tell me that we’re breaking copy-write law we’re not using it for commercial use, it’s for a non-broadcast sales tape and it’s industry standard.

That being said, our original goal was to go HDMI out to a Blackmagic HDMI to HDSDI converter into the Avid. This isn’t working. Our next thought was to go component out to the Avid, this gives us a blue screen. When we go into a SD format project we get the signal but it’s SD.

Is there anything out there we can buy that can help us? We’re reluctant but willing to go down the ripping road if necessary.

Our ultimate goal is to grab moments from bluray movies and get them in as high quality as possible into the avid.

    THANKS!

    David

Copy protection is built into BluRay. You can’t turn it off, even if you have the rights to use the footage.
It won’t pass through the HDMI output to your capture device.
