    Digitizing DV footage from different camera using Z1U

    Hey herd,

    Not sure which forum is best for this, but since I’m digitizing into Final Cut, I’ll use this one.

    Does anyone know if you can digitize DV VX100 24p footage using a Z1U camera in DV mode? I have heard that with HDV formats, each camera is proprietary, but I don’t know if that is also the case for DV footage.

    I’m pretty sure I’ve used a Sony DV deck to digitize VX100 footage in the past, which means this should work too. However, If I’m mistaken I’ll need to have a VX100 camera handy when the client is here for digitizing.

    DV 24p is still just a standard DV tape and signal (as you suggested).

    IF the tape-heads are properly aligned AND the Z1U CAN play a standard DV tape, you’re go to go.
