    Video guys,

I have some footage shot on 24p, some on 29.97DF, and some NDF (all different projects). We don’t have the shooting cameras anymore. I have a FCP system an need to do some digitizing.

I plan to use a extremely basic DV camera (talking about 200 bucks) for digizing, yet I am not sure if this camera, which obviously doesn’t support shooting in 24p or DF will transfer that data to FCP (via firewire) when I digitize.

Do I need to invest in a deck or pro DV camera that supports 24p/29.97DF shooting in order to obtain that information in the digitzing process? Or can this information be obtained using a regular DV camera with proper capture settings in FCP 5?

Lastly, HDV – need an HDV camera or Deck to digitize – correct?

    thank you.
