Digitized Artwork live paint issue

Hello,

I have been scouring the internet and forums for some help on this matter for a day and a half and have found no solution.
I have used the pen tool to do most of the line work. The brush tool was used for some finer detailing.

My issue is when I expand the image as a whole to use live paint, my some of my lines end up having multiple bisectors within the shapes.
On the rest of the image I see that if I want to paint the lines they are split at random points.

I do realize that the paths are numerous. I have attempted to make compound paths/shapes but this does not resolve the issue.

Any help will be welcome. I have attached the file for reference for anyone who wants to see what I am doing wrong.
