  • Digitize from internal DVD?

Posted by Ewin on September 9, 2005 at 4:50 am

I know this is probably a very silly question, but I don’t see any posts about it, so…
Is it possible to digitize from a DVD using the internal DVD drive straight into FCP on the same CPU?
Probably a big no, right? I’ve always used a G5, pro DVD deck, and AJA Io to digitize DVDs but am currently
in a remote office where I only have a G4 laptop and consumer DVD player so am looking for the easiest
way to get DVD media captured.
    Thank you.

Big NO. you will have to use an extractor like DVDxDV or MPEG Streamclip.

    DVDxDV gets my vote.

    Also WAY quicker than real-time.
