Digitising HD into AVID Xpress Pro
I have a Dual 2 ghz Power G5 running OS 10.4.7 and Avid Xpress Pro 5.6
I have DVCpro 720p HD tapes. Should I be able to digitise this footage using firewire input? I am off-lining on the Avid Xpress and will be on-lining on an Adrenaline or Symphony Nitrus.
How should I capture this HD footage, and what project setting should I use? I would like to down-convert on input, do I need deck that will do that or can the Xpress pro do that for me without a Mojo?
Lots of questions… any answers?

just capture in a regular 720X486 project. Your deck/camera will be able to down convert it for you or you can use a resize effect. If it was shot 720, it’s already letterboxed anyway right?
Firewire will work fine
… well, it’ll work anyway.
