    Hi guys/gals

Anyone know if you can digitise interlaced footage taking only 1 field. You can do this in some NLE’s using a draft mode selection at digitise.

I dont mean to do this with a single field res, more to be able to do it at 1:1.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

So you want to digitise a single field – but don’t want to digitise single field res?? I’m not following.

Some avids can digitise 2:1s – but i guess that’s not what you want?

You could digitise at 1:1 then drop motion effects on your clips to set them to duplicate field at 100% speed. You could also digitise through a Snell and Wilcox ARC100 with the film mode setup – that gives you frame based footage from interlaced footage. There is a 2 frame video signal delay to deal with here, but the results will be much, much better than a simple field strip – however you do it.
