Very strange problem with a sound effect. I’m using the ‘Digital Type’ text behavior, and synching a ‘typewriter key striking the page’ sound effect to each letter. It sounds perfect in Motion.

When I export, however, the sound effect, after the first one, starts to get muddy and blurry and faded, and all the keystrokes run together so you can’t make out anything distinctly. This happens no matter what my export settings – I’ve tried about every codec, and both Motion and Compressor. None make any difference. My other sounds — the score, another sound effect — all sound fine after export. It’s just the keystroke sounds that screw up. It is repeatable. Note that the video looks fine; no problems there.

Keep in mind, again, that in Motion, it sounds correct; each keystroke is defined and crisp all the way through. It’s only on export to QT that everything gets messed up. Any suggestions?

Redo the sound effect in FCP or Soundtrack Pro perhaps?
