Initial testing here produces files with .h264 extention…. that we change to .264 so Encore will import… but Encore wants to transcode the files after import.

Has anyone got a recipe for encoding to H.264 using the StreamZ HD so that Encore will not want to transcode after import?

    Thanks,

    sorry… I should clarify

we are attempting to make a simple drop & play Blu-ray disc.

we have a StreamZ HD box here for testing, but have yet to create a file that Encore doesn’t want to transcode.

    thanks

    Hello Mark

We’ve been encoding as MPEG 2 on DR & using Encore CS3. This has worked for us.

Have you been successful using Digital Rapids Stream Z HD & the DR AVC codec?

    Thanks

No… we are not using Digital Rapids anymore.
We are using SONIC Cinevision for encoding.
We have also abandoned Encore due to the fact that you cannot send the Blu-ray output to replication.
We are now authoring with Sonic & DoStudio.

    Hey Mark

Thanks for responding. Are you happy with the DoStudio? Is it working well with your Sonic Encodes? Even though you’ve abandon DR, have you used the DR AVC files with DoStudio?

    Hi Marcus,

I am happy with DoStudio so far…. have really just scratched the surface but has been pretty intuitive and there is 30-day trial an a good tutorial you can download from the Netblender website.

We tested the DR hardware about a year ago so I have not used any DR AVC files since then.

I use SONIC Cinevision, Apple Compressor and Adobe Media encoder… depending on the project. All three programs produce files that work with DoStudio and Encore CS4 on Windows.
