Digital Cut Problem with Panasonic AG-DV2500
Hi Everyone,
I am having problems recording onto my Panasonic AG DV2500. Its seems like a good deck and digitaizing is no problem. After hours and hours last night I finally got to record onto a Mini-DV tape from my Avid Sequence…but not the way i wanted. There is no time code on the tape…just my sequence.
When I have “digital cut” open it automatically has “crash record” selected for me. Then I have options to choose from “Sequence” , “Mark In”, “Ignore Timecode” or “Deck Timecode”. It only worked with “Deck timecode” But I had to press play on the sequence first then press record on the “Digital Cut”.
What I usually do at work is set my timecode(00:57:45:00) . Record black until 00:58:02:00. The rewind it to about 00:57:55:00. Mark my in and out points on the sequence and press record on Digital Cut. On digital cut I would have- Sequence Time, and Assemble edit selected and it would record my sequence and I would add 2:00 min of black.
I try to do this with the Panasonic AG DV2500 and it just goes back and forth, back and forth, then pauses and does not do anything. And I also realized as stated early on that crash record is the only option I can select. There is no “Assemble edit” to build the timecode. The Panasonic AG DV2500, is a VTR with built in timecode reader. I thought this would work like the Beta SP VTR Decks I have at work, with the difference is mine is Digital Video. I have an Avid Xpress Pro HD with Mojo. Deck is connected firewire into the Mojo.
Sorry this is so long, but can someone assist me further with this issue?
Thanks Everyone!
