Digital cut errors on Avid XPress DV 4.8
I’m running Avid Xpress DV 4.8 software only on a 2.4Gig PC with internal 80-Gig drive (for the application), and external 250-Gig USB 2.0 drive (for video and gfx projects). I’m using a Sony PD-150 and a Sony VX2000 as my decks (I’ve tried both with the same result).
I edit a weekly 30-minute show for TV, but since I got Avid I haven’t been able to copy the finished product to tape. It’s a nightmare!!! I thought my problem might have been the RAM. Even though I had 512, which is the recommened by Avid for Xpress DV, I upgraded to 1Gig of RAM this weekend, but I’m still having the same problem.
When I try digital cut to tape on remote deck setting I got this error:
Exception: ADM_DIO_ERROR_OCURRED, DIOerr: Flamethrower Timeout: Transmit request timed out 200.606000 milliseconds
Then I tried digital cut to tape on local deck setting and I got this error:
Exception: SFCONS_VIDEO_UNDERRUN, DIOerr: Flamethrower Timeout: Transmit request timed out 200.112000 milliseconds
DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEA HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM? I HAVE TO TURN IN FINISHED PROJECTS RIGHT AWAY AND I’M GOING BUNKERS HERE!!!

How fast are your media drives?
Can you playback the sequence and crash record on your camera?
